Santa Teresa and Tel Aviv

All right, my time here in Costa Rica is coming to an end and to be honest, I couldn’t be happier about it. That isn’t to say that I don’t love this country and most things about it. It’s not to say that I won’t be back. It is to say that I miss my Ma. However, I am getting ahead of myself. For the last weekend, my friend Kendall and I took a final trip to Santa Teresa which is a little town on the Pacific coast near Cobano.

Santa Teresa is beautiful with big waves and lots of tourists. Yeah, I know, the pot calling the kettle black. Whatever. I only say this because I would like to advocate for checking out the tourist-y spots a few times. Because Santa Teresa has so many tourists, in our hostel alone we made friends with two girls from Tel Aviv, Israel and a man from Sweden. I am a huge fan of exploring the culture of the country but I also advocate for taking advantage of the ecotourism and meeting people from everywhere!

There were a few hiccups, though. While we were there, the entire coast lost internet connection. This meant we couldn’t use our debit cards, check facebook, text people back, or pretty much anything but watch my downloaded Rick and Morty episodes. Our hostel also didn’t have air conditioning during the day. After some time, I found a shady spot that I could hang out in and stay cool but it was still and unexpected, maybe unpleasant surprise.

As far as weekends go, this one was a fun one even with the hiccups. I think it was a great final shebang of my time here in Costa Rica. It was relaxing and I knew I wanted to see the beach one more time before I left. However beautiful it was though, it’s time for me to go home!

See ya, Bria!
